The Jasi Swim Team train at Jellie Park Recreation and Sports centre in the coaching programme which is run by Born 2 swim coaching services. Jellie Park is situated on the eastern side of Christchurch on Ilam road.
The original outdoor Lido pool was opened in December 1964, and is a 7 lane, 55 yard facility with a diving well 4 metres deep with two spring boards, a one metre and a three meter board and a learner pool and a paddling pool.
The outdoor hydro slides were added in 1983.
In October 1989 new facilities were built including an indoor, 8 lanes, 25 metre pool and 16 metre teaching pool and fitness centre. In 2008 after an 18-month facelift, a 2nd indoor 25m 8lane 2m deep pool was added along with the upgrading of the aerobics studio and fitness centre.
These facilities give users the opportunity to find aquatic and fitness activities to suit all ages and abilities.
Christchurch City Council own the facility and are responsible for delivering and staffing the learn to swim teaching programme.
The training squads are run by Born2swim coaching services providing all the training for Jasi swimmers. The
Jasi Swim Club is affiliated with Swimming New Zealand and organise, administer competition activities so swimmers can enter and compete in competitions by collating meet entries, plan travel, accommodation and fundraising activities so swimmers can compete locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. Jasi is the club for all swimmers who train at Jellie Park

Within the training squads at Jellie Park and the competitive arena that the swimmers of the Jasi Swim Team are involved in. Every swimmer is encouraged to reach their full potential in swimming regardless of their abilities or level of performance attained, at local, regional, national or international levels. Success in swimming comes in many different and varied forms.
We pride ourselves on the development of the swimmers understanding of the basic fundamentals of swimming, (such as streamlining and good stroke technique), with the ability to apply these skills in the full range of strokes and distances.
Good technique is the basis of all good swimming. We look to develop this through a consistent programme of stroke progression and development continually challenging swimmers to improve and refine their skills.
To develop a consistent progression of performances, swimmers are encouraged to work at an optimal level rather than at a maximal level thus encouraging a continued raising of performance standards.
Swimming is not just about participation in sport, but also about developing the social and life skills which have to be practised when training in a busy pool. We hope that swimmers will enjoy the experience, make new friends and learn to deal with the ups and downs which accompany any walk of life. We hope that swimming through our programme will be an enjoyable, educational and successful experience.
As swimmers progress out of learn to swim programmes, they can join the training squads at the Gold squad level to enhance their swimming skills. All swimmers get the chance to experience racing in the Splash Nights and most choose to represent Jasi in competitions challenging themselves as part of a team, competing against other clubs and swimmers from around Christchurch and New Zealand.

Jasi swim club is run by a committee of parents who meet once a month to help the Head Coach organise competitions, meet entries, trips, fundraising, swim meets, officials and the administration of the club. Without the committee the club would not function. As with all committees, not everyone is on for life, new blood and new ideas are always welcome.
-
As with most clubs Jasi must raise funds to supplement the revenue gained from swimmer registrations. We work throughout the year on a variety of fundraising activities that allow Jasi to subsidise swimmers competing out of Christchurch and to cover the cost of every Jasi relay team and all individual national meets entries.

Vital to competitive swimming are the swim meet officials. These are volunteers and include the meet director, referee, starter, inspector of turns, recorder, chief timekeeper and timekeepers. As interested parents get involved in the Splash Nights. You will be teamed up with a qualified timekeeper who will show you the basics and help you through the meet. After officiating a few times you may desire to become a qualified official through Jasi which is affiliated through our governing body Swimming New Zealand. You will be taught by qualified instructors and can go for any of the roles you like. You will gain a better understanding of the needs of swimmers and meets organisers to make the sport successful helping swimmers achieve their goals.
